Getting your Prescription
Your Optometrist is legally obliged to give you a copy of your prescription after your eye test so don't forget to ask for a copy.
In order for your prescription to be valid, you must be over 18 years of age, not registered blind or partially blind and your Eye test must have taken place within the last two years.
If you are over 70 years of age your eye test must be less than one year old.
Reading Your Prescription
Although the exact terminology may differ slightly, all prescriptions contain the information necessary for an optical technician to create the appropriate corrective lenses for your vision.
Your Optometrist will advise you which type of glasses you require and you should enter that as the ORDER WITH LENSES part of the Order process.
If you have problems seeing distant objects you should select Distance – Single Vision.
If you difficulties reading small print you should select Reading – Single Vision.
If you problems with Distance and close-up, then select Progressive. See Choosing Multifocal Lenses for more details.
You can also send us a copy of your prescription by e-mail to [email protected] or fax it to us. You can also upload a copy from your computer or you can, of course, contact us and we'll be happy to help.
Frame measurements can normally be found on the inside of your
