About your prescription
How to read your prescription, and how we use it to make your lenses.
Getting your prescription
Your optometrist is legally obliged to give you a copy of your prescription after your eye test, so don't forget to ask for one.
For a prescription to be valid with usYou must be over 18, not registered blind or partially sighted, and your eye test must have taken place within the last two years — or within the last year if you are over 70.
Reading your prescription
Although the exact terminology may differ slightly, all prescriptions contain the information necessary for an optical technician to create the appropriate corrective lenses for your vision.
Your optician will advise you which type of glasses you require, and you enter that at the order with lenses step of the order process.
